Create and rank lists with the Extro MCP

Learn how agents create private Extro lists, add events and places, and apply ranked or tiered ordering.

Lists are Extro's planning workspace. They can combine scheduled events with restaurants, bars, attractions, hotels, and other places.

  1. Read the available types.

Call list_types rather than guessing a type. Extro supports configurable categories such as trip, weekend, restaurants, bar/club, date night, and general recommendations.

  2. Create once.

Call create_list with a stable request ID. Include a useful title and, when known, city and dates.

  3. Add existing items.

Use add_event_to_list and add_place_to_list. Avoid duplicates and keep the list scoped to the traveler's request.

  4. Choose an order.

Leave brainstorming lists unranked. Use favorites-first for recommendations and S–F tiers only when a real comparative ranking is useful.

Example list

New York New Year's Weekend

Type: Weekend · City: New York · Dates: December 30–January 2

Three dinner options, three cocktail bars, five events, one brunch, and two weather-safe alternatives.

Privacy and retries

Agent-created lists are not automatically public search pages. Reuse a request ID only when retrying the exact same action, so a network retry does not create duplicates.
