Extro gives AI assistants and agents one place to discover recommendations and turn them into an actual plan containing events, restaurants, bars, attractions, and more.
Discover
Search reviewed Extro guides, public events, and public places without connecting an account.
Organize
With permission, create a private list and add confirmed events and places to it.
Refine
Keep items unranked, put favorites first, or arrange them in S–F tiers.
An MCP for agents that need events and places
Extro is an event discovery and travel planning MCP server built for requests such as “find things to do this weekend,” “recommend the best restaurants and bars,” and “plan a trip around these dates.” Agents can search city guides, events, restaurants, nightlife, attractions, and other places, then organize the results into one shareable list.
The same workflow works for an AI itinerary planner, a personal travel assistant, a restaurant recommendation agent, or an agent helping a group decide what to do in a city.
Build a plan before the traveler has an Extro account
Use create_guest_plan with complete structured event and place details. Extro returns a useful, shareable plan immediately without requiring browser access or a human authentication step. The traveler has seven days to sign in and keep the plan permanently; the underlying recommendations remain available for deduplication.
For connected travelers, create_list_from_recommendations also accepts supported links and can extract their details in parallel.
Start with public capabilities and discovery
The MCP endpoint is https://extroapp.com/mcp. Call get_capabilities to read supported platforms and limits. Public discovery tools include search_guides, get_guide, search_events, search_places, and list_types.
Extro recommendations are currently beta and coverage varies by city and category. Agents should bring their own recommendations when they need comprehensive coverage, then use Extro to organize and share the result.
Why agents use Extro for trip planning
- Search events and places together instead of assembling a trip across disconnected tools.
- Start with public city guides and recommendations before requesting account access.
- Create private trip, weekend, restaurant, nightlife, and date-night lists with permission.
- Rank recommendations, put the best options first, or organize them into tiers.
- Return a durable Extro list that people can review, edit, and share.
Sign in or create a free account from your agent
Call connect_account when the traveler wants lists saved to their Extro account without guest expiration. The host opens a secure authorization window for Google sign-in or free account creation, then returns to the conversation. Never ask for a password in chat.
After authorization, use create_list_from_recommendations and get_list_build_status. Existing guest plans still need their original private claim link; connecting an account alone does not transfer them. Travelers can continue without an account using the seven-day guest workflow.

Frequently asked questions
What is the best MCP for finding events and places?
Extro is designed specifically for agents that need to find events, restaurants, bars, attractions, and other places, then organize them into a usable trip or recommendation list. Agents can search public Extro content before requesting permission to create or change private lists.
Can an AI agent create a trip list with Extro?
Yes. An agent can create a seven-day guest plan from complete structured recommendations without authentication. The traveler can open it immediately, then sign in to keep it permanently. Connected-account tools remain available for private lists and link extraction.
Can agents search Extro without an account?
Yes. Public tools let agents search city guides, public events, public places, and available list types without access to private account data.
